At nearly forty springs on my shoulders I came to realize that, and taking this quote from an old movie, the gods must be crazy! There is too much crap going on, that we know, and so much more we don't, to just believe for a second that we, humans, are doing some good to this planet and to those who live in. As I believe in goodness as much as badness I also believe both of them are a matter of choice. Even thou, nothing is as good/bad as it could appeal, there are some unquestionable facts that make my skin shiver and fuels up my discontent and disappointment on the system and most societies (the global society, not because it's global, but because in the name of union and freedom we have bee manipulated and forced to live in a system that in the name of comfort, and pleasure, and Gods... we create war, hunger, oppression, misery.
However, I believe in us, as specie in a planet that slowly but surely is changing it shape into a corps , we are taking its nutrients; seas becoming deserts, forests becoming ashes, oil becoming smoke and contamination, metal becoming weapons... all these, for just one reason, ... because of the incontrollable(meaning neoliberalism) economic abused impulse by the economical elite.
This elite, is one whole body when it comes to economic decisions through out the planet, for the benefit of the very same elite, and by always manipulating the mass and by very doubtful means (see Maquiavello), to perpetuate their powerful and pleasant lives. The manipulation comes with the monetary system, and especially with capitalism, which allow us, the mass, to have a taste of what they have, but only a taste. It is interesting to see how brilliantly they execute their plans, let’s put it clear, money buys nearly anything... (See Zeitgeist)
I say nearly because there is still in my heart some faith in the human condition that makes me believe some people are just incorruptible. Believe that there is an inner truth within them, that gives them the certain to accept as true, that life is not about money and power and false material pleasure that lasts seconds, that there is a universal truth in which there is no place for money, power non-sense competition, or manipulation. A universal truth in which there is place for free-self expressed human individuality, in harmony with the fee-self expression of the other as we recognize each other, because there is nothing to fear because we are all looking for the same, as we all, even though might be expressed in a different way, we all live and feel the same (love, anger, hot, cold, fear...) A place in which humankind walks towards nature and not against it, using its resources in a way in which every human been can have a dignified live, by the standards of nature, meaning shelter and heat and food and education and essentially love. A place in which every human being could just enjoy the ride, as the ride does not last long; our time here, what ever time human have been here, it could be not more, than anecdotic to nature.
It is a matter of choice; unfortunately we are easy to corrupt; besides if we are not the kind, we are most likely to disappear. Let’s not forget those who have tried to make of this planet a better place, those like JFK, Martin Luther K, Gandy, John Lennon... and many more, they did not surrender, and that’s why they died. I keep lately wondering about that, about the killings of seriously important individuals that in some way have challenge power. I try to find an image that can define the entity who decides on peoples' life, besides the many wars, the greatest business in human history.
I wonder about democracy, it’s this joke? Lisbon treaty (See Dublin referendum) Well at least there was a referendum, I mean three, until “they” got the answer they wanted... what democracy? How can we accept it? Then, it is when I believe that we, the mass, really are nuts. Politics voted by those who believed in them, also manipulated by the real power, follow the smell of the cash. Other way there would not be there; if they are not willing to get corrupted they would be replaced by some one else easier to manipulate.
I wonder about "The gods…" that rule the world. The Gods that tell us what to wear, to smoke as something fashionable, or on the contrary, what not to smoke, the gods that make those poignant factories in the middle of forests and cities, the gods that make weapons to defend us from us, weapons that help "the gods" to keep us on line, weapons that are put in the hands of children for... could you find any reason???
Are "the gods" really crazy?? Or are they just the representation of the worst repugnant side of humankind?
I wonder…
